Writer RIKO’s Diary 10 September.

PCR testing and government support are available now, but two years ago, it was different. I was in the UK for a week on the verge of lockdown. With the facilities I visited closing one after another, I gathered what little information I could from the embassy and other websites. Fearful of an unknown virus, I had to decide what to do during my stay and after returning home. I arrived at Haneda just before the entry restrictions and spent two weeks in a hotel in voluntary isolation while working on a telephone interview. Fearing the onset of the disease, I faced loneliness in a small room. I was so afraid that I might have died of shock if I had developed the disease.
