Introduction

Setouchi is one of the common names for a region in Japan. It refers to the coastal area of the Seto Inland Sea surrounded by western Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. It is commonly known as Setouchi.

The Seto inland Sea style climate, with the Shikoku Mountains in summer and the Chugoku Mountains in winter, suppresses the monsoon winds, resulting in a mild climate throughout the year, with clear skies and little rainfall. Snowfall occurs about once or twice a year, but heavy snowfall is rare except in mountainous areas. Waves are calm on the Inland Sea side of the Seto Inland Sea compared to the Sea of Japan side.

The Seto Inland Sea coast is known as the “Setouchi Industrial Area” because of its well-developed heavy and chemical industries.

About me, writer Riko.

I began working as a freelance writer in 2018.

I have experience as a business magazine reporter in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

At Idea fountain®, which I represent, I have produced and published corporate commemorative photo books, web writing, and personal histories.

In “Setoriko online shop,” I will introduce the charm of people and things in Setouchi and sell products and works selected as a writer. I want to support the people I meet through my reporting activities.

The Seto Inland Sea is a calm and beautiful sea surrounded by Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, and Ehime prefectures. I still remember the excitement I felt when I first saw this sea from the beach. The scenery of the grand bridges connecting the islands and the beauty of the dotted archipelago is a beauty to be proud of in the world.
